On Thursday, the Winston-Salem Transit Authority finalized an expansion of night and weekend bus service on most bus routes. At a cost of only $1 million, the expansion ensures night and Saturday service on 25 of 31 lines. 17 of 31 routes will have Sunday service.

James Perry, Winston-Salem Urban League CEO remarked, “If transportation is the link to opportunity, then the Winston-Salem Transit Authority just connected tens of thousands of residents to upward mobility. WSTA and City Leaders are to be commended for hearing the needs of residents and adapting to meet our needs. Thank you. Every expansion in service and frequency pays dividends in residents lives. We look forward to partnering with WSTA to further expand bus service and frequency.”
